Insure My Church

FAQ

Stewardship. Assurance. Family. Ease.

Raised in Christian families and educated at Christian schools, we’ve been serving in church since birth. We are a family-owned, multi-generational, independent insurance agency that values relationships and service. We’ve been protecting churches and non-profit organizations since 1991. Our mission is to help ministries be wise stewards of God’s resources by providing comprehensive coverage at the most competitive price.

There was a time when church doors were left unlocked.  Unfortunately, times have changed.  Churches face the same risks that other property owners and businesses face.  Theft, Fire, Water damage and Hail are some common claims that affect buildings and property.  Liability claims are also often made against churches, arising from Injuries to members and staff, allegations of Sexual Misconduct, Vehicle accidents, Pastoral Counseling malpractice, Discrimination, Wrongful Termination, Violent Incidents, Cyber crime, etc.

Absolutely not!  Churches face risks that most insurance policies do not address, which leaves the church unprotected.  There is a difference between being insured by a company who WILL insure a church versus a company that WILL ONLY insure churches. A company whose singular focus is on insuring churches understands the unique risks that churches face and provides the best protection options.  We represent several of those types of companies.

Yes.  We partner with many fine insurance companies and make them compete to earn your business.  We help ministries be wise stewards of God’s resources by providing comprehensive coverage at the most competitive price.

We make it simple!  Simply Contact Us and we’ll schedule a time to review your church campus and current insurance policies.  That’s the end of your work!  We will represent you to the insurance companies and make them compete to earn your business.  After receiving all the quotes, we will determine your best option and create a custom presentation.  Then we’ll set up a meeting with your decision makers (Proverbs 15:22 & Proverbs 11:14) to explain, compare and contrast the coverages and premiums in relation to your current policies.  Our presentation is parable-styled to make complex insurance coverages easy to understand.

One of the key aspects of our presentation is a summary of differences in coverage and cost between your current policy and the policy we propose.  There are times when our recommendation is to keep your current policy.  Also, we explain each coverage that you either have or don’t have so you can decide if that coverage is needed.  We often find churches paying for coverages they don’t want or unprotected against risks they should be shielded from.  We want to do the best possible work for you. (Colossians 3:23)

We value relationships and provide personal service for all your insurance needs.  That means we won’t disappear on you.  We remain involved and available to help as questions or concerns arise. (Luke 6:31)

Don’t just take our word for it, check out the Testimonials from congregations we’ve helped. (John 5:31-32)  And after we’ve helped you, please be a blessing to other ministries and submit your testimonial.

No church is immune to lawsuits or damage to property.  Accidents and liabilities occur in churches of all sizes.  If you are renting a building and cause damage to it, the building owner’s insurance company may sue you to recover their loss.  Also, most churches who are currently renting aspire to own their own worship center someday.  If you’ve been operating without insurance, it will be difficult and more expensive to obtain building insurance.

Anyone who is paid by the church is considered an employee according to state law, regardless if they receive a W2, 1099 or Housing Allowance.  Many churches hire independent contractors to perform janitorial, lawn care, music and maintenance services.  It is incorrect to assume they are responsible for their own medical bills if they get hurt.  If a staff member or independent contractor gets injured while performing work on behalf of the church, they are entitled to the benefits that a workers compensation policy provides.  In the absence of a WC policy, the church becomes the Statutory Employer and must pay the medical expenses and lost wages that a WC policy would have paid.  A workers compensation policy is good stewardship.
